Introduction
Diamond Way Buddhism offers effective methods to make our lives more meaningful here and now. Practiced in India and Tibet for 2500 years, these authentic teachings of the Buddha are now accessible to the modern world. These highly practical tools fit well with joyful, critically-minded people who wish to unfold mind’s full potential.
The Diamond Way Buddhist Group Red Deer is part of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The centres were founded and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of H.H. 16th Karmapa. They are now under the spiritual guidance of H.H. 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinlay Thaye Dorje.
Weekly Meditation
Every Wednesday at 8:00 pm
We invite everyone interested in learning about and practicing Tibetan Buddhism to join our free, public meditation every Wednesday at 8:00 pm. The main meditation in all of our centres worldwide is called the Guru Yoga meditation. This meditation is guided in English and is approximately 20 minutes long. No previous meditation experience is required.
In addition to the meditation, we offer a short talk on Buddhist topics followed by a question and answer period. Also available is a small lending library of Buddhist texts and audio files of teachings given by Lama Ole Nydahl and other Diamond Way teachers.
Personal Practice
Our group also offers the opportunity to learn and practice the Foundational Practices of Tibetan Buddhism called Ngondro. This set of meditations bring forth one’s potential while removing the veils which keep us from experiencing and expressing our Enlightened nature.
